About this flight
Since November 6, 2000 SonAir is proud to be the first Angolan company to offer a direct flight between Angola and the USA. More precisely between the cities of Luanda and Houston.
This charter flight is intended to service companies operating the oil industry in Angola which are members of the USAEA - US AFRICA ENERGY ASSOCIATION.
Thus, for the reason mentioned above this service is not designed to compete with regular airlines.
The express Houston-Luanda-Houston, was the first step of SonAir's international expansion. This venture's success ensured the company's philosophy to always raise its standards bar.
In May 2000 SonAir signed a contract with the US airline, World Airways,
to provide a regular private air charter service between Luanda and Houston.
Known as the Houston Express this charter flight, an World Airways McDonnell
Douglas MD-11, carries passengers and freight three times per week.
